Each self-contained bungalow has a bedroom, living room, fitted kitchen and walk-in shower room. There is gas central heating and double glazing. Residents who enjoy gardening can plant and maintain flower beds by their front and back doors.
Who can apply to Hedger’s?
New residents are accepted from 55 years of age and above.
Hedger’s Almshouses are available for single ladies of modest means who would like to enjoy the benefits of private semi-sheltered housing. It is not necessary to have lived in Guildford although a local connection is desirable. This can, for example, be of particular benefit to those wishing to move into the Guildford area from elsewhere to be nearer to their families. A contribution towards maintenance is payable in lieu of rent.
Due to the nature of how applications have to be dealt with, we do not operate a waiting list which you might experience with a social housing provider or local authority. We do, however, keep a list of people who have expressed an interest and will make contact when a property vacancy occurs. If you wish to be added to our list, please use our contact form.
